Our Mission

Foster critical analysis by training students both in theory and practice so as to equip them with skills needed for facing global challenges with team work and human values, and to build quality network with the Industry, Educationists and the Society for exchanging knowledge.

Sanjay Memorial Polytechnic was established in the 1980s under the leadership and guidance of our founder Chairman, Shri Kagodu Thimmappa. Registered under Sanjay Vidya Kendra ® Society, Sanjay Memorial Polytechnic has been providing a platform of quality technical education to the rural people and backward communities of Sagar Taluk and surrounding areas and has been instrumental in shaping the future of many young aspirants successfully since four decades. Shri. Kagodu Thimmappa’s vision has helped shape the future of many young aspirants successfully over its four decades of operations.

Wide range of technical courses are offered in Sanjay Memorial Polytechnic suited for aspiring future engineers in the fields of Civil, Mechanical, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, and Electrical and Electronics. Sanjay Memorial Polytechnic continues to be the centre of learning and innovation in emerging areas technical education imparting an Output Based Education as outlined by the Directorate of Technical Education, Karnataka. The modern teaching methodology assists the students in getting a 360-degree understanding of engineering basics, exposure to up-to-date technology, and aims to instil entrepreneurial ideas.

Being the ONLY polytechnic college in the state to have 20 acres dedicated solely for the purposes of imparting polytechnic education, it boasts of various amenities in the form of separate blocks for each discipline, 300 sqm library space with over 10,000 volumes and multimedia facility, 12 computer labs, English Language Lab, separate hostel facilities for both boys and girls, nutritious meals served in the mess, CCTV surveillance 24x7, ample space for sports, proper parking lanes, and free Wi-Fi, and an extensive green cover to allow students to enjoy nature.

Mr. Kagodu Thimmappa

President

Mr. Kagodu Thimmappa, B.Com, LLB, who has had a successful 40-year long history in Karnataka’s politics. His vision and continued dedication to the upliftment of society makes him the ideal chairperson to bring about a change in the lives of the people of Sagar and surrounding areas. He has held the portfolio of the Revenue Ministry in the last government besides being the Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly and handling ministerial portfolios for the Health Ministry, Department of Social Welfare, Chairman of the Housing Board of Karnataka.

Dr. Mrs. Rajnandini Kagodu

Director

Dr. Mrs. Rajnandini Kagodu, eldest daughter of Mr. Kagodu Thimmappa, and Director of Sanjay Vidya Kendra ® Society. Dr. Ranjnandini is successfully operating a full-fledged hospital off Kanakapura Road in Bangalore along with her doctor husband Dr. Rajeev Loomba. She herself is a well-known practicing OBGYN surgeon and like her father is a visionary in bringing new education formats to the people of Sagar. She is on board the Red Cross Rotary Blood Bank in Sagar.

Mrs. Anuradha Kagod

Secretary

Mrs. Anuradha Kagod, is the second daughter of Mr. Kagodu Thimmappa and holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences from Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering. She has worked in various industries after completion of her graduation to include a 10-year stint in Medical Transcription, Operations Manager for Bogineni Group real estate projects, and was also employed in Fulcrum Lifestyle Pvt. Ltd., an interiors procurement firm, handling logistics. She also holds a Diploma in Hotel Administration and Food Technology, from Sophia Polytechnic in Mumbai. She is passionate about the process of learning and helping people optimize their learning potential.
